Game Changer: How LG’s Ultra-Large AI TVs Transform the Sports-Viewing Experience
SEOUL -- LG Electronics has announced a new lineup of ultra-large AI-powered televisions designed to deliver an immersive sports viewing experience that replicates the atmosphere of a stadium.
According to the company, matches in professional sports are often decided in a fraction of a second, and smaller screens can obscure the decisive details. LG argues that ultra-large displays, measuring 100 inches and above, fundamentally change the viewing experience by engaging peripheral vision and revealing subtle skills and rapid movements in real time.
Expanding the Field of View
LG’s latest models include the 100-inch LG Micro RGB evo AI and the 115- and 100-inch LG QNED evo AI Mini LED TVs. The company says these screens not only fill the wall but also provide the advanced picture technologies needed to keep pace with the fastest players.
Enhanced Picture Quality
To maintain clarity on such massive displays, LG has equipped the lineup with TruMotion for smooth motion and AI Super Upscaling to sharpen lower-resolution broadcasts. The premium 100-inch Micro RGB evo features the α11 AI Processor 4K Gen 3, which uses dual AI engines to refine textures and details. Certified for high-purity RGB spectrum display, the model delivers vivid color separation and precise brightness control.
The QNED evo models, powered by the α8 AI Processor 4K Gen 3, offer dynamic tone mapping and wide color volume coverage, ensuring accurate reproduction of turf greens and team jersey colors.
Stadium-Level Sound
LG emphasizes that audio is equally important in recreating the stadium experience. The TVs feature AI Sound Pro, which generates a virtual 11.1.2-channel surround sound using built-in speakers, and LG Sound Suite AI, which integrates Dolby Atmos FlexConnect for multi-dimensional audio without complex calibration.
Smart Sports Hub
Beyond picture and sound, LG has positioned its ultra-large TVs as centralized sports hubs. The LG Sports Portal combines live broadcasts, on-demand content, and free regional programming. The Sports Playbook provides real-time player statistics and interactive tournament brackets, while AI Concierge recommends matches and displays win probabilities directly on screen.
Redefining the Game
LG executives state that the combination of ultra-large screens, advanced AI processing, high-purity colors, and immersive audio transforms sports viewing into an experience that goes beyond simply watching a broadcast. “With LG’s ultra-large AI TVs, fans can feel the immense scale of the occasion and see every detail as it unfolds,” the company said in a statement.
