Schneider Electric Applies a Remote Smart Device Management Solution to the Air Pollution Reduction Equipment of NIT Korea

Secure a digital service that can be used to collect and manage data related to environmental indexes
´º½ºÀÏÀÚ: 2021-06-24

Build a 24/7 customer support system with remote monitoring capability without a substantial investment in acquisition and personnel
Reduce up to 20% of maintenance cost

SEOUL-- June 24, 2021 -- Schneider Electric(Korean branch CEO Kyungrok Kim), a global leader in energy management and digital transformation in automation, provided the EcoStruxure Machine solution, an intelligent IoT equipment management platform and architecture, to the TESLA PLASMA Electric Dust Collector of NIT Korea(Chairman Donghyeon Jeon).

NIT Korea is a company that designs and manufactures air pollution reduction devices including electric dust collectors featuring PLASMA technologies. The company has expertise in filtering a variety of air pollutant byproducts and improving indoor air quality. NIT Korea‘s electric dust collector built around the company’s proprietary MPS plasma technology is used in subways, petrochemical plants, steelworks, and textile factories worldwide to eliminate exhaust, fine dust, oily dust, toxic fume. As the environmental regulations become tighter all over the world, the demand for dust collecting devices is on the rise.

Schneider Electric‘s product offered an efficient, predictive maintenance and remote management-ready digital integration solution to those dust collectors installed in industrial facilities worldwide. Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure™ Machine is an integrated architecture platform built for industrial complexes and tool manufacturers. This IoT based digital platform combines hardware and software to provide manufacturers with comprehensive values in designing, engineering, managing, and maintaining their equipment.

NIT Korea introduced an integrated solution that includes a Modicon M172 controller as PLC, Altivar ATV212 multi-speed drive, Pro-face HMI, and all other power and automation products from Schneider Electric. This solution is based on the flexibility of Schneider Electric‘s software such as EcoStruxure Machine Expert HVAC and EcoStruxure Machine Expert Basic, and monitored by Machine Advisor on the cloud.

Schneider Electric‘s EcoStruxure™ Machine Advisor, in particular, is a cloud native equipment management solution that can collect and analyze data to predict potential failure, and notify when to replace worn components. NIT Korea’s key customers must keep an environment-friendly operation log to keep track of their pollutant emission and to do so, they need data related to environmental indexes. The project is key to building a digital environment in which Schneider Electric‘s Machine Advisor can collect and store such data and provide them for customers to use. NIT Korea has been implementing and expanding its TESLA E.M.A(Environment Equipment Monitor Advisor) service platform with the help of Schneider Electric’s Machine Advisor since May.

In addition, Schneider Electric provided comprehensive and perfect engineering support, from the designing phase to the programming and panel manufacturing phase.

So Yeong Jeon, CEO of NIT Korea, says, “As the government‘s concern for the environment grows, the demand for industrial grade dust collectors also grows. As the market expands, the customers’ needs have been diversified. We were looking for a business model that could differentiate our products and services from those of competitors. NIT Korea was able to build the groundwork for the remote management of equipment information and provision of such data with Schneider Electric‘s EcoStruxure Machine Advisor, a cloud native equipment management solution.” With this solution, they expect to save up to 20% of initial investment and personnel expenses in the future. We’re planning to expand our digital technologies for predictive maintenance and equipment management to all our customers and become the leader in the dust collector market with more digital products."

President Kyung Rog Kim of Schneider Electric Korea says, “Schneider Electric will provide support for our customers to apply digital technologies to their sites and projects at an accelerated pace, from programming to panel manufacturing as their partner. Our smart equipment management integration solution will help them to increase productivity and on-site maintenance efficiency.”
