PARIS-- April 03, 2023 -- Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, is celebrating its 10th anniversary as the title sponsor of the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris. The event, taking place on April 2, 2023, brings together runners from across the world in support of a more sustainable future.
After three years of Covid restrictions, the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris—the world’s second-largest marathon—is back to full capacity in 2023, with around 55,000 runners expected to take part. This hugely popular sporting challenge attracts participants of all levels, from beginners to elite athletes.
This year, a record 6,500 runners have signed up as part of Schneider’s corporate #SEGreenRunners team, demonstrating how the company’s employees, customers and partners are determined to work together to accelerate the transition to a cleaner and fairer world. Schneider’s #SEGreenRunners community is a global sporting movement that aims to inspire people to lace up their sneakers and share their training progress while encouraging good sporting habits that reduce runners’ environmental impact and promote inclusion and wellbeing.
“Running a marathon takes hard work and perseverance. The race towards a more sustainable future requires the same determination,” said Chris Leong, Schneider Electric’s Chief Marketing Officer. “We are committed to engaging with customers, partners, colleagues, and communities and bringing everyone along in the race towards a more sustainable and equitable future for all.”
Schneider Electric is also sponsoring this year’s Paris Run for All event, which takes place the day before the marathon. This 4.2km race welcomes people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to experience part of the marathon course. All proceeds go to a charity that donates carbon running blades to children with disabilities, allowing them to take part in sporting activities.
In addition to the Marathon de Paris, Schneider Electric is the official title partner of several other prestigious distance running events around the world, including the Beijing Marathon and the Serbia Business Run series.
This decade-long tenure as title sponsor underlines Schneider’s sustainability leadership and the company’s long-standing commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Frequently recognized for its success as an Impact company, Schneider Electric believes that working together with its wider ecosystem of partners is essential to meet these goals and build a more sustainable and equitable future for all.
